Trust what he does, NOT what he says.
Remember how Obama promised us if he was elected how he said he’d make US Federal Government more “transparent”? How he’d clean up the abuses of the Bush administration? Perhaps it was all just a campaign lie bad joke.
In an amazing legal exchange the Obama administration’s Justice Department attorney Jeffrey Smith asked U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan to keep testimony from former Vice President Dick Chaney from being disclosed to the US public because,
. . . future presidents and vice presidents may not cooperate with criminal investigations if they know what they say could become available to their political opponents and late-night comics who would ridicule them.
WTF? Truth should be suppressed because late-night comics might make fun of politicians?
Why is Obama’s team protecting Dick Chaney?
Change you can believe in! What’s next? Gag orders against comedians? Or maybe outright repeal of Freedom of Information?
Judge Sullivan “didn’t decide immediately whether the summary and notes of the Cheney interview should be made public, but the judge said Bradbury’s declaration was inadequate to justify withholding the records. He ordered the Justice Department to supplement its filings by July 1 and to produce the documents for him to examine in private.”
