This process of having may different channels is by intention. Ascension is like a huge puzzle, and we must all find our own puzzle piece, find out how to use it, then find out how to ascend it, so that we can fit into the planetary ascension. There are no absolutes in the higher dimensions, as every thought and emotion becomes manifest and unites with other manifested thoughts and emotions. Therefore, there are many different ways to look at the same thing. None of these perceptions are right or wrong. In fact, in the higher dimensions there is not judgment or polarities of right and wrong. (Source)
Realize that less than one percent of all the channels on Earth are real. The majority are simply speaking through their own egos and calling it what they may.
And further, all channels, real or not, are extremely dangerous to follow because no one knows for sure who is really speaking. It takes time to know who is really speaking. Just because he says it is Lord Metatron does not mean that is who is speaking.
A channel opens themselves to the universe, which anyone, including you, can do, and it is like making a random phone call to anyone on Earth. The person who answers may tell you the truth of their real name or they may go along with you and say they are who you are asking for. And then, why would they know any more about a certain subject than anyone else? It is a real problem in the channeling world, and it is therefore extremely dangerous to believe them or to use their information.
Go to the heart of the matter.
I would suggest you stop listening to channels, and learn how to enter into your own heart. All knowledge and wisdom is contained there, and it will never be a lie or deception. It will always be the TRUTH. Trust yourself, and believe in yourself. Channeling the Big Guns, oh really?
Like gnats who say they channel humans . . .
Many new age types like to paint angels as soft loving creatures, that hover around their atmosphere, spilling astral roses and whatnot, like they were some kind of traveling sachet dispenser. I suppose many of the lesser assistants of the seraphim and cherubim may have qualities of this kind and certainly Nature spirits do, if they can be encouraged to appear, due to an excess of virtue in the person they present themselves to. However, real angels, especially the big guns, are fearsome beyond description and their mere approach is sure to send most people into a trembling, bowel evacuating state of terror. Anyone who thinks differently hasn’t had the pleasure, or otherwise. People who presume to be channeling archangels cause me some degree of mirth. (Source)

Three Ways To Discern What’s True–vs. what’s false
When making our decisions, it is best to get as much information as possible from as many sources as possible. The more we know, the better our chances of making excellent choices. I like doing independent research and the internet is a good source, but also anyone can write or say anything, so we need to know how to discern truth from false.
1) Does what is being read, seen or heard feel right or wrong, not in your mind, but in your soul?
2) Where is this information coming from and what is the motivation of the source and what does this source have to gain from your believing and acting on what this source is telling you. Who is paying the salary of the person speaking and is the information fear driven or love and happiness driven?
3) Is this information about love, kindness to all living entities, fair for all, and will the results be beneficial for all, including all animals and Mother Earth? Set your own criteria for discerning what is best for you above and beyond what you have been taught or programmed to believe is true.

Avoid Fear Mongers Who Channel
Does the information being presented have an uplifting quality to it? Does it elevate the spirit and the soul or does it lend the soul to fear and doubt? . . . Any source that would use fear as a way of promoting itself and keeping those who are interested in the channelings in line, again must be avoided like the plague, for this Awareness says that those sources that are from the highest levels will always give inspiration and upliftment, will always allow total freedom to question and query, and will always have the Light to follow and not an abyss to fall into. . . . When one has the impression that there is something wrong here, even if one cannot immediately put their finger on it, one should follow this inclination and step back rather than involve themselves more in the workings of this individual or this group. “Stay out of fear” because its magnified energy prevents light from reaching consciousness, thereby keeping individuals mired in third density, unable to evolve spiritually and intellectually. Fear precludes sound reasoning, common sense, logical questioning and the will to rise up against tyranny and corruption. . . Divisiveness has long been an effective tool of the dark ones. Not content to divide the peoples only through religions, they have separated you into other conflicting camps by attaching labels to social strata, ideologies and philosophies, types of governing and political parties, and by labeling as a “conspiracy theorist” anyone who disputes official claims about any situation or event.
