Campaign promises fail again . . .

Obama promised in 2007: No more spying on citizens who are not suspected of a crime, No More NSA Illegal Wiretaps, Man I fell For This One.

Of course, our President also swore to uphold the US Constitution . . . Amendment IV of the Bill of Rights, US Constitution: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” US Constitution, Amendment IV of the Bill of Rights (But, NSA ‘rethought’ the 4th Ammendment to the Bill of Rights)

Why surveillance is not OK

I live in a country generally assumed to be a dictatorship. One of the Arab spring countries. I have lived through curfews and have seen the outcomes of the sort of surveillance now being revealed in the US. People here talking about curfews aren’t realizing what that actually FEELS like. It isn’t about having to go inside, and the practicality of that. It’s about creating the feeling that everyone, everything is watching. A few points:

1) the purpose of this surveillance from the governments point of view is to control enemies of the state. Not terrorists. People who are coalescing around ideas that would destabilize the status quo. These could be religious ideas. These could be groups like anon who are too good with tech for the governments liking. It makes it very easy to know who these people are. It also makes it very simple to control these people.

Lets say you are a college student and you get in with some people who want to stop farming practices that hurt animals. So you make a plan and go to protest these practices. You get there, and wow, the protest is huge. You never expected this, you were just goofing off. Well now everyone who was there is suspect. Even though you technically had the right to protest, you’re now considered a dangerous person.

With this tech in place, the government doesn’t have to put you in jail. They can do something more sinister. They can just email you a sexy picture you took with a girlfriend. Or they can email you a note saying that they can prove your dad is cheating on his taxes. Or they can threaten to get your dad fired. All you have to do, the email says, is help them catch your friends in the group. You have to report back every week, or you dad might lose his job. So you do. You turn in your friends and even though they try to keep meetings off grid, you’re reporting on them to protect your dad.

Desperately trying to illegally shut down legions of whistleblowers,

US Government fails again . . .

Trying To Rein in Whistleblowers

Government Will Decide What We Can Know (Source)

obama-not-a-crookPresident Obama has repeatedly hailed himself for presiding over “the most transparent administration ever.” At the same time, he has waged a sustained and unprecedented war on whistleblowers, press freedoms and the basic mechanisms of the news gathering process.

But it is the administration of Barack Obama that has prosecuted more accused leakers under “espionage” statutes than all prior administrations combined — in fact, double the number of all prior such prosecutions.

A climate of fear is keeping journalists from doing their job — informing citizens about the secret actions of political leaders.

“NO MORE HESITATION” Cardboard Targets for DHS Target Practice

Target: Young Moms

Target Practice: Young Moms with their kids.

Paul Joseph Watson has uncovered proof that a U.S. based company called “Law Enforcement Training, Inc.” has been selling millions of dollars worth of “no hesitation” targets to the Department of Homeland Security.

Target Practice: Women in their homes.

Target Practice: Women in their homes.

These targets (see images) are used to train DHS employees to shoot American citizens and they depict pregnant women, old men, children and even young moms with guns. The purpose of the targets, according to the company that sells them, is to “eliminate any hesitation” that U.S. government employees might normally feel in shooting to kill pregnant women, children and old men. (I’m not making this up. The government’s plan to murder Americans is now right out in the open . . .)

  • Target Practice: Scared kids.

    Target Practice: Kids.

A government does not push to disarm the American people for no reason.  A government does not buy 1.6 billion bullets for no reason–enough ammo to wage a 7-year war with the American people.

  • The Department of Homeland Security does not buy cardboard targets of pregnant women, young mothers and old men for no reason. They are buying these targets because this is who they are training to kill. Keep in mind that DHS “officers” do not take an oath of office, meaning they do not swear any allegiance to the U.S. Constitution. Their only allegiance is to their paycheck and their dangerous sense of power.

Never let a good crisis go to waste . . .

To “protect” our children Senator Boxer wants schools to have:

  • Chip lines [requiring our kids to have RFID identification chips]
  • Surveillance equipment
  • Secured entrances
  • Metal detectors
  • Other important “safety” measures
  • National Guard troops serving as guards at school
  • Strengthening the perimeters of school.

According to Senator Boxer, “WE know what works and what doesn’t work.”

Maybe Senator Boxer should require our kids to wear “uniforms” with broad black and white stripes on their shirts and pants! . . . and have Cops patrolling with AR-15s, checking “papers” and conducting TSA-style “pat-downs” on the private parts of suspicious boys and girls!

Awesome. Why not? Anything for more “safety”.

Let’s do it for the kids.

UPDATE Nov. 7, 2012: I was right! . . . but wish I was wrong.

UPDATE Dec. 26, 2012: Barack Obama received more than 99 percent of the vote in more than 100 precincts in Ohio on election day. Ohio was a very important swing state in Obama’s election. Third world dictators don’t even get 99% of the vote. See the key Ohio precinct vote counts here. Lucky coincidence for Obama that he was so popular in those Ohio precincts.

A bold prediction about the outcome of the upcoming U.S. election:

I know, for sure, who is going to win.

The winner will be the candidate who is in favor of and supports:

  • Going to war with Iran
  • Continuation of bankster bailouts
  • Continuation of the ongoing legal corporate “donations” and lobbying that pays politicians to be total sellouts
  • Increasing the size of government–through more debt, regulation, entitlements, military spending, etc.
  • Restriction of liberties, erosion of the Bill of Rights, expansion of police powers, and the growth of Federal power over States Rights
  • Continued multi-trillion-dollar debt-based spending, putting the United States into a position of never-ending debt, and possibly economic collapse.

Which candidate is this, you ask?

“In a speech at Northwestern University yesterday, Attorney General Eric Holder provided the most detailed explanation yet for why the Obama administration believes it has the authority to secretly target U.S. citizens for execution by the CIA without even charging them with a crime, notifying them of the accusations, or affording them an opportunity to respond, instead condemning them to death without a shred of transparency or judicial oversight. The administration continues to conceal the legal memorandum it obtained to justify these killings, and, as The New York Times’ Charlie Savage noted, Holder’s “speech contained no footnotes or specific legal citations, and it fell far short of the level of detail contained in the Office of Legal Counsel memo…”. The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) was recently passed by both houses of Congress and signed into law by President Obama. Under NDAA the military can now arrest American citizens, detain them indefinitely, torture and interrogate them without charge or trial. In essence, this Act implemented martial law in the United States. It also nullifies the Magna Carta of 1215, Bill of Rights and Posse Comitatus, which prohibited the military policing civilians inside the U.S. since 1878.  (Source)

We call it “human rights violations” when police in other countries intimidate their people by executing citizens on the street for petty infractions–but, when we do it it’s different.

London’s Daily Mail is reporting today that US police forces are now performing public executions like their German Nazi counterparts once did in a further bid to further terrorize their citizens, and as we can, in part, read:

Kelly Thomas

“A shocking video has been released allegedly showing police officers tasering and beating a homeless man to death who they claim was resisting arrest. Though the video is not clear, eye witnesses say the homeless man – Kelly Thomas, 37 – was unable to put up any resistance and was lying on the ground on his front when the attack took place on July 5. His screams and cries for his father can be heard amid the tasering noises.” [See shocking video by clicking here.]

Most interesting to note about the public execution by US police forces of this homeless man was the large crowd of Americans who stood idly by without coming to his aide, and which stands in sharp contrast with Chinese citizens who after their police forces beat a street vendor to death yesterday rioted against this shocking abuse of human rights in their knowing that if injustice isn’t stopped it only grows stronger. The ever growing list of the outrageous:

Unbelievable! Court Rules US Taxpayers, Not BP Or Transocean, Are Liable For Gulf Oil Spill Clean Up Costs – Once again the courts screw us in favor of a corporation, this time it’s even a foreign corporation. US District court dismissed over 100,000 lawsuits brought against BP And Transocean to pay for oil spill clean up costs and environmental damages caused to the Gulf of Mexico from the BP Gulf Oil Spill. Isolated case? Not really. Check corruption charges against the US Supreme Court– What Justice Clarence Thomas Has Done .

The Truth About Libya - Here’s why Obama had to invade Libya (without consulting Congress): Libya has almost no unemployment, the highest GDP in Africa, less than 5% of the population is classified as poor (fewer people living below the poverty datum line than for example in Holland), life expectancy is 75 years (the highest in Africa and 10% above the world average), most Libyan families possess a house and a car. There is free health care and education and a literacy rate of 82%, and worse yet, last year Gadaffi distributed $500 to each man, woman and child (population 6.5 million)–clearly a monster who must be stopped.

Missing Iraq money may be as much as $18 billion- Iraq reconstruction funds stolen ($18 billion is an amount equal to about $180 from every US household–hope you got your share). Nebraska - nuclear plant

Levee near Nebraska’s Cooper nuke plant “about to break” June 20 2011  - Missouri river floods threaten Fukishima-like nuclear plant explosions and fallout. Why? Seems there’s already “problems” with the Spent Fuel Cooling Pool at Nebraska Nuclear Plant. Haven’t heard about this yet? Maybe it’s because: US orders news blackout over crippled Nebraska Nuclear Plant. Meanwhile, FAA has put in place a “no-fly zone” over the  area so news reporters can’t take pictures–in fact, over the past week over 40 temporary “no fly zones” have been declared by the FAA.

US nuke regulators weaken safety rules (AP News) – Federal regulators have been working closely with the nuclear power industry to keep the nation’s aging reactors operating within safety standards by repeatedly weakening those standards or simply failing to enforce them. When nuclear plants can’t meet federal safety regulations then regulators just change the safety regulations.

The Last Nail – Ron Paul’s Floor Speech May 25 2011

.

From the speech . . .

The last nail is being driven into the coffin of the American Republic.

The rule of law is constantly rejected and authoritarian answers are offered as panaceas for all our problems. Characteristic of this epic event is the casual acceptance by the people and political leaders of the unitary presidency, which is equivalent to granting dictatorial powers to the President.

Our Presidents can now, on their own:

1. Order assassinations, including American citizens,
2. Operate secret military tribunals,
3. Engage in torture,
4. Enforce indefinite imprisonment without due process,
5. Order searches and seizures without proper warrants, gutting the 4th Amendment,
6. Ignore the 60 day rule for reporting to the Congress the nature of any military operations as required by the War Power Resolution,
7. Continue the Patriot Act abuses without oversight,
8. Wage war at will,
9. Treat all Americans as suspected terrorists at airports with TSA groping and nude x-raying.

McCain Proposes Indefinite Detention Without Trial for Citizens

On March 4, 2010, Sen. John McCain, and his co-sponsors, introduced S.3081:

S. 3081: Enemy Belligerent Interrogation, Detention, and Prosecution Act of 2010

Senator McCain

3/4/2010—IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES

Introduced by Mr. MCCAIN (for himself, Mr. LIEBERMAN, Mr. INHOFE, Mr. BROWN of Massachusetts, Mr. WICKER, Mr. CHAMBLISS, Mr. LEMIEUX, Mr. SESSIONS, and Mr. VITTER). (Source1, Source2)

To provide for the interrogation and detention of enemy belligerents who commit hostile acts against the United States, to establish certain limitations on the prosecution of such belligerents for such acts, and for other purposes.

[Read S.3081 Bill here.]

S.3081 Summary: Requires an individual who is suspected of engaging in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners through an act of terrorism and who may be an unprivileged enemy belligerent to be placed in military custody for purposes of initial interrogation and determination of status.

  • Allows the detention of an unprivileged enemy belligerent without criminal charges or trial for the duration of hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners in which the individual has engaged or which the individual has purposely and materially supported.
  • Defines “unprivileged enemy belligerent” as an individual who: (1) has engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners; (2) has purposely and materially supported hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners; or (3) was a part of al Qaeda at the time of capture—as determined by an interagency team composed of executive branch personnel with expertise in national security, terrorism, intelligence, interrogation, or law enforcement.

Looking at naked kiddie porno pictures while on-duty is a routine part of a Transportation Security Administration “TSA” airport screener’s job, BUT . . .

Having copies of TSA’s naked scanner pictures of kids while off-duty, or practicing TSA’s enhanced kiddie pat-downs while off-duty, is illegal–as all TSA “professionals” know.

While on-the-job, it’s all legal and good.

Yet, TSA Airport passenger screener charged in distributing child pornography: Homeland Security agents arrested the TSA officer Thomas Gordon March 24, 2011 and he is being held without bail.

Relax! The rights of the accused TSA Officer are being strictly observed: “Citing privacy rules, TSA spokeswoman Ann Davis would not say if Gordon has been suspended from his job”. (Source)

Isolated case? Hardly. Here’s another case: TSA Screener Caught With Child Pornography:  “TSA screener, Andrew Smeal, 39, held at the Broward County Main Jail on $50,000 bond . . . was arrested on 25 counts of possessing child pornography, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.” (Source)

Just a few days earlier we saw this: Homeland Security Head Janet Napolitano backed the TSA’s recent actions in conducting and enhanced pat-down on a six year old girl.

No traveller may fly in American airspace unless TSA agents first see and/or feel said traveller’s genitalia. That’s not hyperbole, just a straightforward description of American law playing out in airports every day. (Source)

Once you see that you are indeed in an open ward mental institution scenario, you will be amazed at how it transforms your perspective. (Source)

From: US Police Can Copy Your iPhone’s Contents In Under Two Minutes

Cellebrite UFED data capture system

It has emerged that Michigan State Police have been using a high-tech mobile forensics device that can extract information from over 3,000 models of mobile phone, potentially grabbing all media content from your iPhone in under two minutes.

The CelleBrite UFED is a handheld device that Michigan officers have been using since August 2008 to copy information from mobile phones belonging to motorists stopped for minor traffic violations. The device can circumvent password restrictions and extract existing, hidden, and deleted phone data, including call history, text messages, contacts, images, and geotags.

In short, it can copy everything on your smartphone in a matter of minutes.

Once the data is obtained, the device’s “Physical Analyzer” can map both existing and deleted locations on Google Earth, porting location data and image geotags on Google Maps.

By the way, Apple iPhones keep track of where you go (via GPS) and when, and stores about a year of the data in a secret file on the phone, ready for the police to download. In Google’s case Android HTC phones track calls and location and transmit the data back to Google several times an hour.

It’s a cool feature. I feel safer, don’t you?
